This wine has a gorgeous bright purple red color. The nose jumps out at you with aromas of fresh cherry, boysenberry, raspberry, violets, rose, and a touch of forest floor.

The 2020 Sangiovese comes from Mendocino County, a steller vineyard north of Ukiah. Late bud-burst leads to warm a growing season and an extended hang-time to soften the acidity and provide fresh, ripe flavors for this beautiful wine. The vines have strong vigor and a balanced crop that is planted on Loamy soils, perfect for this easy-going delicious Sangiovese.

Hand-picked at night, the grapes are bought to the winery, where it is destemmed and transferred to a closed-top stainless steel fermenter. Fermentation is quick and warm to soften the tannin but preserve the freshness. They are pressed after ten days. They are barreled down to our puncheons and undergo full malolactic fermentation. After six months, the wine is racked and returned to soften and integrate the tannins before aging another six months, whence it is then blended and bottled.
