It’s sheep season again! Visitors to our winery and olive oil store will get a chance for the next few weeks to witness one of the more adorable aspects of our sustainable farming. In early summer we bring in sheep to eat the bottom leaves on our vines, which otherwise block out sunlight from the young grapes and prevent proper ripening. Sheep also leave behind valuable organic matter to enhance the soil and preclude the need for chemical fertilizers. We love our sheep, and so will you!
