2006 Paicines Alcohol: 13.0% Cases Produced: 600 Retail: $22.00Arneis known as the “little rascal” is an interesting variety grown in the Piemonte region of Italy and used primarily as a blender to diffuse the ruggedness of Nebbiolo. Often a difficult grape to grow, very few acres exist here in California. These grapes hail from Paicines in San Benito County, where cool coastal breezes produce highly concentrated Arneis fruit. This medium-bodied wine has refreshing lemon and lime nuances with a hint of spearmint.

Best known for its role in Chiantis and Brunellos, Sangiovese is the most widely planted grape in Italy. Our Sangiovese grapes, planted in the Sonoma Coast appellation, are blanketed in early morning fog from April until they are harvested in October. The long hang time allows the bright raspberry, cherry and spicy flavors of this wine to come forth. Aged in French oak barrels and neutral cooperage, our Jacuzzi Sangiovese has balanced acidity, medium body and moderate tannins and will age gracefully for the next 5 to 7 years.
